Some people just do life right.

    Like this couple from Australia.

Four years ago, Riley Whitelum and Elayna Carausu decided to leave their old lives behind and move on board Whitelum’s monohull ‘La Vagabonde’, on which they now sail around the world, vlogging their experiences.

When they met back in 2014, they were just two Australians travelling Europe. Now they live an alternative lifestyle which they document on their YouTube channel, which has more than 530 000 subscribers and a total of 86 million views.

Here’s an average day on ‘La Vagabonde’:

Before a life vlogging their trip around the world, Carausu was living on the Greek island of Ios, playing music at restaurants and bars.

It’s here that she met Whitelum out one night, who asked her to come sailing. She said yes and the rest is history.

Onboard La Vagabonde, the couple have established roles. Whitelum takes care of boat maintenance and everything logistical — like checking the weather and planning ahead of sails, while Carausu takes care of the cooking, cleaning and editing videos for their YouTube page: Sailing La Vagabonde.

They’ve quickly become sailing’s most popular vloggers. Here’s more from their channel:

What started out as a hobby quickly became a way to make money.

While all of their episodes are free to watch on YouTube, fans can go the extra mile to support the couple. They also get access to episodes a week before they’re released to the public, a chance to win merch or to be randomly be selected to join them onboard, as well as various other announcements.
“We’re not making any money anywhere else,” Whitelum says, “that’s the only way we can keep doing it.”
Donations are voluntary, so the couple relies on support from their viewers. So far they have been quite generous.

The couple says that they get messages from people all over the world who have opted to follow in their footsteps and live life to the fullest.

It isn’t without its difficulties, though. The couple almost collided with a superyacht once, and they’ve had a run-in with pirates, all of which is recorded on their vlog.

Overall, it looks like a good way to live.
