The following is an idiot’s guide to getting busted for faking an insurance claim.
57-year-old Alexander Goldinsky was working as a subcontractor at a Woodbridge, New Jersey, company when he supposedly took a nasty spill after slipping on some spilt ice from a soda fountain.
According to VICE, after being treated for injuries, he filed a ‘slip-and-fall’ incident report and an insurance claim.
Unfortunately for Mr Goldinsky, he forgot to do the most important thing before faking an injury – check for CCTV cameras.
Here’s the video evidence that this man executed the worst insurance fraud fail of the year thus far:
As you can see, after a shifty look-around, he throws the ice on the floor, then awkwardly shuffles to the ground.
“The investigation revealed that Goldinsky purposely threw the ice on the floor in the cafeteria at his workplace, placed himself on the ground, and waited until he was discovered,” authorities said in a statement.
He is now facing fraud charges.
I feel like if he was going to fake an accident, he could have done it with a bit more finesse. Where are the flailing arms, the cry of despair, the comical death-drop?
Not his best work.
