  • Takealot Opens New Collection Points (Western Cape, Gauteng, KZN, And More)

Takealot usually tends to deliver the goods rather promptly.

It’s part of what sets them apart from some other e-commerce companies in SA.

They’re not perfect, though – those dodgy deals and discounts don’t look like they’re going away any time soon.

On the plus side, they’re mixing things up in the delivery department by opening more than 25 new collection points across South Africa.

    MyBroadband has the details:

The collection points, called Takealot Pickup Points, are an alternative to having your order delivered to your home or office.

Customers select the “Collect” option when checking out on Takealot and then select a location from where they want to collect their order.

The listed pickup points are as follows:

    Eastern Cape – Port Elizabeth
    Limpopo – Polokwane
    Mpumalanga – Nelspruit
KwaZulu-Natal – Avoca, Pietermaritzburg, Pinetown, Umhlanga Ridge
Western Cape – Takealot Warehouse, Brackenfell, Milnerton, Parow, Somerset West, Tygervalley, Westlake, Woodstock
Gauteng – New Road, Alberton, Booysens Reserve, Bryanston, Centurion, Constantia Kloof, Fordsburg, Fourways, Halfway House, Hatfield, Krugersdorp, Menlyn, Rivonia, Strydompark

For the specific locations, go here.

In terms of pricing, collecting your package could save you time and money, especially if you order from Takealot regularly, or place smaller orders under R450.

Customers who select the ‘Collect’ option will have seven days to collect their order once it has been delivered to a pickup point. If the package is not collected within seven days, the package will be returned to the Takealot warehouse and the customer’s account will be credited.

The company’s FAQ page states that customers may also nominate a person to collect their order on their behalf, provided they have the QR code or unique PIN linked to their order.

Once an order has been placed and the collection point selected, it is not possible to change collection points or change the order to a home or office delivery, states the FAQ page.

In other words, don’t drink and shop online, or you might find yourself driving from Cape Town to Nelspruit to collect a box of buyer’s remorse.
