Listen up, my boets and binnets – it’s finally here.

Last August, news broke about a South African video game called Boet Fighter, which was the brainchild of local game developer Robot Wizard.

There was footage of some gameplay, along with this truly wonderful description that is pretty much peak Jozi:

BOET FIGHTER is a mega-schweet faaghting video game where Hard Eddy and his taaghtest charnas must moer all of Fourways in the face, as they faaght to reclaim his stolen binnet! It’s got creatine, vaalence and house beats, boet… and it’s coming soon!

‘Soon’ was clearly more along the lines of ‘just now’, not ‘now now’, but we finally have a release date and trailer.

    Critical Hit reports:

The game is set for a release on Steam towards the end of next month. Look, as tired as I am of the schtick, lead artist Louis Du Pisani’s scribbles are always fantastic, and the whole thing does still seem like a silly bit of fun…

To celebrate its impending release, there’s a brand new trailer for the game – which may or may not have easter eggs or cameo or two.

Peak Jozi boet in three, two, one…

Jislaaik, man, blerrie hell hey, yoh, okes, chinas, ouens, boet!

Also, we aren’t sure exactly what sexy Afrikaans rapper Jack Parow is doing at the end, chowing an Easter egg, but this makes us excited.

You can find the game on Steam here, where the ‘planned release date’ is down as September.

    Lakka.
