  • Jozi Daylight Robbery Ends With Victim Firing Back [Video]

Sometimes, you have to fight fire with fire, which looks to be a motto that this robbery victim lives by.

The footage below comes from the Hobart Grove Centre in Bryanston, Johannesburg, and shows the man being robbed of his wallet, watch, and cellphone.

It never ceases to amaze me just how brazen this country’s crooks have become, with this taking place last Friday at around 3:45 PM.

    In other words, broad daylight.

Before we see the footage, here’s News24:

“It is alleged that four armed suspects accosted the victim and robbed him [of] his wristwatch, wallet and cellphone,” police spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters said in a statement.

“The suspects jumped into an Opel Corsa, the new shape, and drove off at high speed. The victim allegedly fired shots at the getaway car,” Peters said.

Not the old shape Opel. Can’t be seen fleeing the scene of a crime in one of those – how embarrassing.

From around the 35-second mark, you can see the man who was robbed grab a weapon, and he then fires on the suspects as they make their escape:

Just your casual Jozi afternoon shootout.

Despite what police called a ‘manhunt’, the suspects remain at large, and anybody with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
