Such poise, such grace, such strain on the knees.
That man above is Nick Brett, and whilst he may never become a household name in the world of sports, he is enjoying some time in the limelight following an outrageously skilled shot during the World Indoor Bowls Championships earlier this week.
Whilst most of us know bowls as the thing you pretend to do while you’re drinking at a mate’s party, Brett and his teammate Greg Harlow weren’t mucking about.
Fair enough, when you consider that they were playing on behalf of England against the old foes, Scotland, represented by Paul Foster and Alex Marshall.
You don’t need to know a great deal about the sport to appreciate this artistry:
The shot was so unlikely the crowd actually laughed out loud, and then he nailed it.
Astounding skill.
The likes of Messi are heralded around the world for curling a free-kick into the top corner, but I reckon that’s as good as it gets in terms of indoor bowls.
The English pair went on to defeat their Scottish counterparts 10-6, 6-8, 2-1.
