Zoolander, much like Old School and Anchorman and a host of other movies with Will Ferrell, is fondly remembered.
The less said about the sequel (and the sequel to Anchorman), the better, but we shall speak of them no more.
Instead, let’s focus on Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, the spoof comedy starring Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams.
This year, there won’t be an actual Eurovision Song Contest, due to the pandemic, so this one will have to do.
Here’s Deadline:
Directed by Wedding Crashers helmer David Dobkin from a screenplay by Ferrell & Andrew Steele, the plot centers on Ferrell and McAdams as aspiring Icelandic musicians who start a band called Fire Saga (spoiler alert: they’re not very good).
They somehow get invited to represent the country at Eurovision, the world’s biggest singing competition, where they have a chance to prove that any dream is a dream worth fighting for.
Alongside Ferrell and McAdams, you’ll enjoy the acting chops of Dan Stevens, Demi Lovato, and Pierce Brosnan.
A far cry from 007, Pierce:
You know what you’re getting here, and although I fear it may be a dud, let’s live in hope.
It will start streaming on Netflix from June 26.
