Most of the leopard sighting videos we cover are as a result of camera traps, with the cats staying far from human habitation.
Then you get people such as the Soames family, who live in the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, where spotting a leopard or two in the garden is a regular occurrence.
Jealousy levels through the roof on that one.
This latest sighting, which comes from the Klipgat township, northwest of Pretoria, seems to be less welcome, although it does have a happyish ending, with the leopard safely captured.
Getaway reports that the leopard is believed to have escaped from a game reserve in the area, although that is not yet confirmed:
North West Police spokeswoman, Maria Nkabinde told Daily Sun that residents contacted the police when the leopard was sighted.
‘When police got there, they called the Nature Conservation department since they are the right people who will be able to get the leopard out of the area safely’ she said.

All things considered, we’re just grateful that nobody was injured, and the leopard was removed before any harm came its way.
