Not ideal is a really polite way of putting things.
I’d be more inclined to go with ‘driver criminally endangers lives of innocent schoolchildren’.
The driver in question was behind the wheel of a bus operating in the area of Moshesh Agricultural Senior Secondary School, near Matatiele in the Eastern Cape.
A fellow pupil filmed the Grade 10 pupil getting behind the wheel, whilst the driver stands alongside her with a beer still in his hand.
I may not have kids, but I still feel like throttling this driver:
If that video doesn’t work, here’s one from Twitter:
Moshoeshoe Agriculture high school learner in Matatiele had to take the wheel of a bus ferrying learners because the driver was drunk. He continued to drink as she drivers. pic.twitter.com/zVW0hgmvJd

EWN reports that the driver has been suspended, and the company he works for also lost its government contract for transporting schoolchildren.
Provincial Transport Department spokesperson Malibongwe Mtima said she was stunned, adding that the department was making other plans to ensure the safe transport of pupils to and from school.
Here’s hoping that man never gets behind the wheel of a bus again.
