To the decent folk out there who drive a Mercedes-Benz, look away.

Here’s another fool dragging your name through the mud.

According to Cape Town Etc, this incident took place on Sunday, November 1.

It starts with some really top-notch car engine revving, which I just can’t wrap my head around.

Is this is the motor industry equivalent of beating one’s chest, or performing an elaborate courting display?

Either way, the revving soon gave way to panic, when flames began to engulf the vehicle.

Who did it better – the car that went swimming or this fire fiasco on Long Street?

The wonderfully named Ghamster Dai Nat Naaier shared some pictures of the aftermath to his Facebook account:

Following a request from Cape Town Etc, Western Cape SAPS spokesperson Colonel Andrè Traut said:

“Kindly be advised that Cape Town Central police are aware of the incident of the vehicle catching fire in Long Street on Sunday evening. No case docket has been registered in [relation] to the matter and it is not under investigation.”

We don’t need a docket to confirm that somebody must be feeling like a massive doos, and rightly so.

It really is the 99% of Mercedes-Benz drivers that give the other 1% a bad name.
