    Off you pop, pal.

Just last month, FlySafair made their zero-tolerance policy towards passengers who refuse to wear a mask very clear, threatening to sting anybody who didn’t comply with costs of around R100 000.

You may recall this tweet, showing the card with the airline’s policy clearly stated.

There’s no word as of yet regarding whether or not the passenger booted off a flight from Cape Town International Airport on Tuesday will have to pay up, but at the very least, he’s been left looking like a fool.

The incident occurred on flight FA201, which was due to depart for Johannesburg at 8:50AM, reports TimesLIVE:

“We regret to confirm there was an incident involving an unruly passenger who was escorted off one of our flights this morning,” said FlySafair chief marketing officer Kirby Gordon…

Gordon said the altercation started shortly after the doors of the aircraft were closed and the stairs retracted.

“A passenger reacted negatively and aggressively toward the legal requirement that he wear his mask aboard the aircraft,” said Gordon.

“As per required protocol, the captain was immediately informed of the situation and the decision was taken to offload the individual.”

On his way out, the passenger first received a sarcastic round of applause, before the patience of other passengers wore thin:

    What a fool.

Gordon said that police were called for, to meet the passenger as he departed the flight, which then took off at 9:10AM.

I suppose the silver lining is that at least he never whipped off his undies to use as a face mask.
