Apparently This Olympic Swimmer Has A “Phenomenal” Third Leg [Video]

Gold medals for everyone involved in this Tokyo Olympics live TV gaffe, when a BBC sportscaster's compliment turned into an innuendo, giving the two British swimmers an opportunity to prove their stoicism.

In Olympic competitions, where the winners are often decided by millimetres and split seconds, two gold-medal-winning British swimmers have proven there is still time for a laugh.

Honestly, they deserve another gold medal for holding things together during this live TV moment.

It all came down to BBC sportscaster Clare Balding’s double-entendre, as HuffPost reports it.

Tom Dean and Matt Richards (along with teammates James Guy and Duncan Scott) just came out victorious in the 4×200-metre freestyle relay at the Tokyo Olympics, and Balding was conducting the interview.

Likely without knowing that she was about to send the pair into stitches, she introduced them with this line:

“Matt, you’re 18 years old, it’s your first Olympics, and you swam — honestly, your third leg was just phenomenal.”

The “third leg” is in reference to Richards, who swam third in the four-leg relay for the British team, but the innuendo didn’t make it past the boys, or anyone on social media for that matter.

Watch Dean and Richards try to keep a straight face like the serious Olympians that they are:

It goes without saying that Twitter couldn’t get enough:

For two young lads, their composure is admirable.

But nothing beats the reaction of Tatjana Schoenmaker who broke a swimming world record earlier this morning.
