Move over Hulk, because Dude is finally on the scene and ready to free those muscles in theatres near you.
That is, after delays due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
We covered the trailer last year, expecting to watch the beefed-up version of Ryan Reynolds in Free Guy, a movie described as being a Grand Theft Auto crossed over with The Truman Show, in December.
The movie will finally be released next week, and Reynolds has shared a new clip from Free Guy.
The video introduces Dude, the buff villain who aims to stop the titular hero, Guy.
Here’s more from Men’s Health:
The actor used a video on his YouTube channel to poke fun at the Hollywood fitness industrial complex by pulling back the curtain and give a behind the scenes look at Dude, a muscle-bound bad guy who appears to be a major obstacle for Reynolds’ protagonist in the film.
Dude isn’t just big. He’s jacked, or you might even call him swole or yolked. And Dude is supposed to be Reynolds—at least that’s how he’s credited in the trailer.
Warning: this video is full of frightening bodybuilding jokes and way too much gratuitous flexing:
Thankfully, Reynolds is not actually a “gigantic slab of muscle” but rather a well-rendered deepfake made by FX wizards.
This is a fact I am sure Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively, is grateful for.
