South Africans love a good wedding proposal video.
Although, not quite as much as we love a wedding proposal fail (as long as there’s a happy ending).
Willie Myers decided the time was right to pop the question to his then-girlfriend, Johandri Pieterse, in early August.
Willie, a professional hunter and the manager of De Rust Private Nature Reserve farm in the Free State, wanted to incorporate some of his favourite things into the proposal.
According to YOU, he managed to convince Johandri, who is pregnant, to join him at the farm on August 6:
[Johandri] didn’t suspect a thing as they headed out one morning earlier this month.
“He just told me to get dressed and make sure I looked nice because there would also be people there.”
A few weeks before the big day Willie had asked Johandri for her finger measurements but she thought nothing of it because he told her he needed this information so he could buy them matching hunting gloves.
Smooth.
The two have only been together seven months, although they have known each other for far longer, so Johandri wasn’t expecting a proposal.
At the farm, Willie kept asking Johandri to try and shoot a target 100 metres away, and eventually, she agreed.
When she looked down the rifle, there was a piece of paper attached to the target:

Johandri’s reaction really is priceless.
Skip ahead to the 1:30 mark if you’re pressed for time:
Sheer, unbridled joy.
The plan is to tie the knot in March 2022.
Here’s the happy couple, one last time:
