We should have known about this dad joke showdown between Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg when we wrote about the UK’s Best Dad Joke competition back in June.

Ferrell and Wahlberg’s jokes are as old as Daddy’s Home 2, which was released in 2017, but still, their additions could have added some real clout to the completion of best (worst) jokes submitted by 2 700 “gag-loving dads”.

Their dad joke face-off was a fun way to advertise the sequel to Daddy’s Home.

You know, just two dads making bad jokes and trying to win points by making the other laugh more.

You will have to get through about five minutes before the winner, AKA the actor dad with the most points for getting more laughs from the other, is revealed.

The puns are loaded and ready to fire in this one:

In other Ferrell-related news, it is almost time to watch him be bamboozled by a therapist, played by Paul Rudd, in his latest series.

The Shrink Next Door, directed by Michael Showalter (Wet, Hot, American Summer), will be dark and twisted and based on a true-crime podcast of the same name.

Head here to read more and watch the trailer.

The first three episodes of the eight-episode series will premiere on Apple TV+ on November 12, with new ones coming weekly after that.
