Airports are proving to be rather dangerous these days.

If it’s not because of COVID-19 trying to wreak havoc all over the world, then it’s because people are getting into massive fights.

Onboard flights, we’ve seen someone punch the teeth out of a flight attendant due to mask mandates, and others get aggressive over seat placements.

Then there are those that take their aggression out on each other once they’ve landed.

That’s what happened in Terminal 2 of the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) just before midnight last Friday, following America’s Thanksgiving celebrations.

Videos of the violence were shared on Instagram (see the Stories section) and Facebook, with one user saying the fight lasted “three rounds” before authorities intervened:

The Star Tribune reported Patrick Hogan, the spokesman for the Metropolitan Airports Commission, which operates MSP, saying that passengers fought after two large groups deplaned from a Frontier Airlines flight:

Blows were exchanged between several people and “some of the individuals threw stanchions and broke chairs,” Hogan said.

Airport police officers responded to the scene “a minute-and-a-half” after receiving the call, Hogan said, and were joined by back-up a minute later, he added.

Bloomington police arrived at the Terminal 2 baggage claim to “keep the peace” after airport police broke up the fight in the gate area and directed those involved to retrieve their luggage.

Paramedics were also on the scene to assist with any injuries, but they seemed minor if anything, with everyone involved declining further medical assistance at the hospital.

Hogan confirmed that no arrests were made, but added that they would charge individuals after reviewing video and other evidence.

This incident is just one among the many that threaten flight attendants and other airline employees who have been facing an increasing number of assaults over the past 20 or so months.
