A prison guard and a convict accused of murder, who share the same surname, are on the run.
Vicky White and Casey White are not related, but there has to be some kind of connection between the two as Vicky, the guard, diligently helped Casey, the prisoner, get out of jail.
Vicky, a previously loyal employee at the Lauderdale County Detention Facility in Alabama, has been described as “a model employee” with “an unblemished record”.
Lauderdale County District Attorney Chris Connolly even said she is “the most solid person at the jail”.
However, Connolly, along with Vicky’s family, has been in complete disbelief since learning that she has disappeared with a prisoner supposed to be serving his 75 years in jail for kidnapping, burglary, and attempted murder, among other crimes.

Per EWN, Casey (above) was already in custody at a state prison in 2020 when he confessed to murdering a woman five years earlier:
His admission was short-lived — he eventually pleaded not guilty in the case, which is still ongoing — but as a result, he was transferred to a jail in Lauderdale County.
That is where he met Vicky White for the first time, according to Sheriff Rick Singleton.
From there, he moved from prison to prison as rumours of a potential escape plan did the rounds, all the while staying in touch with “pen pal” Vicky:
“We don’t have any evidence of any physical relationship,” Singleton noted, but other prisoners have told of “special privileges” afforded to Casey White.
“She was doing special things for him that other inmates didn’t get,” Singleton said.
Those special privileges merged into helping Casey escape his imprisonment before he was set to attend a proposed court hearing in his capital murder case, reported WVTM13:
Friday morning, Vicky White ordered that Casey White be prepared for transport, telling the booking officer that since other officers had already left for court and she was the only officer available with a certified firearm, she was going to take him to the courthouse alone, the sheriff said.
“Being the boss and over the transport, she just informed the booking officer that she was going to carry him to the courthouse and drop him off, which was a flagrant violation of policy [The Lauderdale County jail had a policy mandating two sworn deputies accompany inmates at all times, including during transportation to the courthouse]. But I’m sure because it was her boss, the booking officer didn’t question it,” Singleton said.
Cue their getaway:
The pair seem to have ditched Vicky’s police car at a shopping centre before getting into a possible getaway vehicle, a 2007 orange Ford Edge, to flee.
Law enforcement has warned that he is likely armed, since Vicky certainly was, and is “extremely dangerous”.
A former girlfriend also confirmed to a local television station that “Casey White is very dangerous”:
“He’s dangerous to everybody that is around him,” she said, offering advice to Vicky White, if the two are indeed on the run together.
“Get the hell out,” the former girlfriend warned. “Do the right thing before you lose your life or before somebody else does.”
Vicky, 56, moved in with her mother last month after selling her home and announcing her retirement, which is certainly interesting timing.
The improbable pair were spotted recently on surveillance footage cruising around Florence in her police vehicle, reported New York Post:

There’s a $15 000 award on the shelf for information leading to the pair’s arrest.
