Imagine drinking water from a lake that has been clogged with dead bodies?
Formed by the Hoover Dam in the 1930s, Lake Mead near Las Vegas has since been providing water to more than 40 million people in several American states.
It has recently been subjected to record low water levels, which is causing a few cadavers to turn up.
That means the water supplied to Arizona, California, Colorado, and Nevada has been a little, well, adulterated:

First, a body in a barrel was found, which police believe may be linked to the Mafia, reported Sky News.
The body was of a man who had been shot, supposedly between the mid-1970s and the early 1980s, based on the fact that his shoes seemed to have been manufactured at that time.
Homicide detective Lieutenant Ray Spencer reckoned the death could easily be Mafia-related and that there was “a very good chance” that more human remains would be discovered.
A week later, in another drought-stricken area of the lake, more human remains were indeed found.
The park rangers in the area received a tip-off that “human skeletal remains” had emerged at the reservoir, before rushing off to recover them and contact the coroner’s office to determine the cause of death.
Now, two retired LA police officers are offering a $5 000 reward for those who find more bodies at Lake Mead.
