The Queen has a well-established relationship with her brooches, each one symbolic of an important and sentimental aspect of her 70 years on the thrown.

She often wears a particular pinned gem as a nod to her hosts during official Commonwealth tours, but also as a way to remember loved ones who have passed.

While fans were delighted to see her getting carted around in a decked out buggy at the Chelsea Flower Show, all eyes were on one touching detail of her outfit.

She was wearing a rather rare brooch with heartfelt, bittersweet symbolism:

Good To Know has the particulars:

The special brooch which depicts a spray of two flowers: one made of pink sapphires with a row of rubies surrounding a central diamond, and one of blue sapphires with a diamond centre, was given to her by her parents King George VI and Queen Elizabeth – on the occasion of her 19th birthday in 1945.

PEOPLE reported that although the brooch is not seen in public all that often, the Queen did wear it for another special occasion; a portrait session with baby Prince Charles that took place in 1949 at Buckingham Palace:

One can explore a couple of the other brooches from Her Majesty’s jewellery collection as they are on display at the Royal Collection Trust as part of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The Queen’s Flower Show style didn’t end there.

Let’s talk about that top of the range £62 000 electric golf buggy dubbed the “Queen Mobile” that she was wheeled around the gardens in:

    Over to The Mirror:

It is known that the 96-year-old monarch has been suffering from mobility problems of late, but it is believed that the flower show is one of her favourite events to visit.

Buckingham Palace confirmed that adjustments to the visit had been made “for the Queen’s comfort” – and it’s just the third time she has been pictured riding in a buggy.

But this one was a little more special, dubbed the “Rolls Royce” of premium golf carts complete with “weather enclosure” doors and a 10-inch tablet screen in the front that has maps and weather updates.

There’s even a little fridge should Her Majesty need a snack while riding, along with cup holders, a heated windscreen, and Bluetooth speakers.

Watch the Queen sit back and enjoy the show:
