Derek Watts is one of those instantly recognisable South Africans.
For more than three decades, he’s been at the helm of a show that signals our weekend is over (thanks, Derek) and unscrupulous business owners must fear the very sight of him.
I’d go as far as to say even scrupulous business owners must brick it. I still feel a little uneasy when I drive past a traffic officer or police van, even though I know I’m not breaking the law.
Congrats to the marketing team behind Castle Lite’s new ad starring Derek for identifying that fear and using it to ‘Lite’n Up Mzanzi’, as the new catchphrase goes.
The ad was released on social media yesterday:
Poor Derek.
The guy just wanted a sarmie.
