When it comes to the Super Bowl, brands clamour to create a commercial that will score a different kind of touchdown.

Indeed, while the event is very much all about “the big game”, it is also very much about the ads.

Again this year, companies pulled out all the stops to create their wildest, most show-stopping advertisements yet with all our favourite old and new celebs to boot.

Given that around 100 million Americans watch the ads critically and closely, they have to be incredibly captivating, and that usually costs the Big Bucks.

Fox reportedly charged up to $7 million for a 30-second slot, according to the New York Post.

We’re diving straight into the most outstanding ads that this year’s Super Bowl had to offer, excluding that bonkers Sketchers ad where Martha Stewart got a tattoo of her bestie Snoop Dogg’s face.

The Netflix and General Motors 60-second joint venture ad featured funnyman Will Ferrell explaining how the streaming service is set to include more electric vehicles in their upcoming movies and shows is pure TV gold:

Speaking of electric vehicles, a Tesla full self-driving beta smear campaign was also launched as a Super Bowl Ad thanks to Dan O’Dowd, a self-described billionaire and founder of Green Hills Software:

Watch The Dawn Project’s #SuperBowl ad demonstrate critical safety defects in @Tesla Full Self-Driving. 6 months ago we reported FSD would run down a child. Tesla hasn’t even fixed that! To focus their attention, @NHTSAgov must turn off FSD until Tesla fixes all safety defects. pic.twitter.com/AxJbN5oOSr

Elon Musk better be working extra hours on that Master Plan Three of his.

Moving on to rebellious rockers Billy Idol, Ozzy Osborne, Joan Jett, and Paul Stanley joking about corporate office culture in an ad for Workday, a software company that provides cloud applications for finance, HR, and planning:

Then, Breaking Bad gets a snack-tastic reboot in this commercial that sees Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul reprising their roles as Walter White and Jesse Pinkman:

Meanwhile, a condiment commercial from Hellman’s, featuring Jon Hamm and Brie Larson stuck inside a refrigerator, is a little bit gaggier:

Then, Alicia Silverstone returns as Cher Horowitz in Rakuten’s homage to Clueless:

Inspired by Doritos’ triangular shape, Jack Harlow – Gen Zs’ fav rapper – kicks off a worldwide triangular obsession… and then Elton John appears for all the other generations:

If you’re a fan of Adam Driver, then this Squarespace ad giving us an infinite amount of Adam Drivers is where it’s at:

But apparently, the behind-the-scenes footage released on YouTube is where the real comedic gold is:

    Hilarious.

We’re finishing off with Ben Affleck serving customers at a Dunkin’ Donuts drive-thru, with Jennifer Lopez making a quick cameo, too:

Well, that was fun. Back to work.
