Guess who’s back? No, not Slim Shady, but the other nineties chart toppers, Backstreet Boys! The massively successful boyband will be touching down in South Africa for a two-concert tour this May.
Big Concerts confirmed on Monday that Backstreet Boys – consisting of Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean, and cousins Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson – will be coming to South Africa for the first time.
They might not be ‘back‘, as this is their first South African tour, but the boys have been making teenagers all over the world go crazy for almost 29 years now, so we expect a great deal of excitement for the upcoming shows. Although the group were bigger than Bieber in their day, they have been relatively quiet the last few years, despite releasing a Grammy-nominated 10th album in 2019, entitled DNA.
The album debuted at number 1 and features the Top 10 hit Don’t Go Breaking My Heart. The critically acclaimed and chart-topping single was nominated in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category at the 2019 Grammy Awards. It was also BSB’s first hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 10 years.
The band has also released episodes of their new docuseries, Making Of The DNA Tour, giving us a glimpse into the preparation for their world tour:
