Prince Harry and Meghan Markle received the South Park treatment.

The animated comedy, highly adept at scathing social commentary, took aim at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with an episode featuring a young royal couple who move to a small town in search of privacy while simultaneously constantly drawing attention to themselves.

Meghan and Harry are not named, but their little animated caricatures show a strong enough resemblance for even those living under a rock to know what’s up.

The ‘Prince and Princess of Canada’ in the episode also publishes a book, appears in TV interviews and embarks on a worldwide ‘we want privacy’ tour, notes The Telegraph.

The episode draws parallels to the Sussexes’ recent time in the spotlight, including their Netflix documentary series, the publication of Spare and Prince Harry’s multiple TV and talk show interviews to promote it.

For example, at one point in the episode, the couple enter a marketing agency to “rebrand” themselves but the prince has an epiphany in which he states: “No more magazines and Netflix shows, we can just live a normal life”.

The episode, released last Wednesday, starts off with the royal couple being booed at the funeral of the Queen of Canada – who resembles the late Queen Elizabeth II – for “bashing the Canadian monarchy”.

They’re also shown flying all over the world, going from TV interview to TV interview holding ironic placards that read “we want privacy” and “stop looking at us”.

It is hilariously on point how the South Park Prince’s book is titled Waaagh with a cover connected to Prince Harry’s memoir Spare.

There’s also a funny subplot in which the couple moves next door to Kyle and continues to draw attention to themselves while begging everyone for privacy.

The series has tackled everything from Scientology to white supremacy in its 25-year history, so of course its mockery of the (adjacent) British royals is perfectly attuned.

Watch this YouTuber discuss the South Park episode, which is available to watch in full, no interruptions, on the South Park website:

Perhaps it is time for Harry and Meghan to admit that they have become global influencers in the business of perpetual moaning.
