Hailey Bieber has been throwing some serious social media shade at Selena Gomez lately.

The two of them have been rivals ever since 2018 when Hailey married Selena’s on-again, off-again ex of almost eight years, Justin Bieber.

Hailey married Justin just six months after he and Selena broke up, so you can imagine she was a little heartbroken.

But that hasn’t stopped Hailey from apparently hating on the singer.

Last week, their long-rumoured feud exploded in spectacular fashion, reported BuzzFeed News, after Hailey and her close friend Kylie Jenner appeared to make fun of Selena on Instagram.

Kylie also entered the chat after Selena posted another TikTok where she talked about “accidentally” laminating her eyebrows too much.

Kylie proceeded to upload a selfie paired with text that read: “this was an accident???” near her eyebrows, suggesting deep shade:

THEN, Kylie uploaded a screenshot from a FaceTime call she had with Hailey, where the pair had both zoomed in on — you guessed it — their eyebrows:

Kylie then commented on the TikTok blow-up in an attempt to clear the air:

“this is reaching,” Kylie wrote in the comments section of a TikTok that accused her and Hailey of being “childish.” “no shade towards selena ever and i didn’t see her eyebrow posts! u guys are making something out of nothing. this is silly.”

Selena even appeared to back Kylie up, replying to the comment: “Agreed @kyliejenner. It’s all unnecessary. I’m a fan of Kylie!”

But, the saga did not end there, as Selena left a not-nice comment on a resurfaced clip of Hailey from 2017 where she appeared to fake a gag when Taylor Swift’s name is mentioned:

Selena and Taylor are close friends, so Selena jumped to her defence and shaded Hailey in the process:

This prompted a lot of people to call Hailey and Kylie “mean girls” while Selena decided to bow out and take a social media break:

“I’m very happy. I’m so blessed,” she began, reassuring her followers that there’s no need for concern. “I have the best friends, the best fans in the whole world, and I just couldn’t be happier. I’m good, I love who I am. I don’t care.”

“I’m gonna be taking a second from social media, ‘cause this is a little silly,” she added. “And I’m 30, I’m too old for this… I’ll see you guys sooner than later, I’m just gonna take a break from everything.”

As a result of all this petty drama, Selena gained 10 million Instagram followers, while Hailey lost hundreds of thousands, dropping to under 50 million followers after previously being above that threshold.

It also resulted in Hailey and Justin’s relationship being closely scrutinised:

It wasn’t long before people were circulating receipts that proved that Hailey was a hardcore Justin fan for years before they got together. In fact, she would often tweet about his and Selena’s relationship and how they were “a teenage dream.”

Justin and Hailey have been married since 2018 now, but still, there are numerous videos of Justin seemingly ignoring or forgetting about his wife while they are out in public together.

Most recently, when Hailey posted a Birthday message for Justin on Instagram, all hell was unleashed on the poor ‘mean girl’, with people commenting “happy b’day justin and gift yourself divorce papers,” or  “Justin.. we freed Britney… we can FREE YOU TOO!!”

Justin didn’t even like the post or acknowledge it in any way.

It’s all so silly but so juicy.
