An incredibly rare Pagani Zonda supercar, once owned by the Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton was involved in a crash inside the Penmaenbach Tunnel in, North Wales yesterday, and it’s a heartbreaking sight.
Hamilton once has a ‘incident’ with the car himself when he crashed it into three parked cars in 2015 in Monte Carlo ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Perhaps the car is the reincarnation of Little Bastard.
At the time he blamed “a toxic combination of fever, sleep deprivation, and heavy partying” for the expensive mistake. Following the crash, the world champion said the car was horrible to drive.
After the champs fender bender, he sold the car as part of his new ‘going green’ mantra when it comes to his supercar collection. A UK driver was quick to snap it up for £8.5 million (R206 million), but now it looks like Stevie Wonder took it for a spin.
Ethan Gale, a supercar photographer, happened to witness the moertoe sportscar being loaded onto a tow truck and took some photos to share with the world. As the young photographer notes: “Very sad day in the motoring world.”It’s unknown what caused the accident, but the driver is fine, claiming he just lost control before hitting a wall. It may have had to do with the car’s 0-100 km/h in less than three seconds acceleration and top speed of 340 km/h – which tripped up even the F1 world champion.
The one-off car was personally ordered from Horacio Pagani by Hamilton and has a bespoke manual gearbox and initials ‘LH’ at the end of the name of the model.
