Our favourite model-whisperer, Leonardo DiCaprio, had a crazy time celebrating his 49th birthday.
During a private party for the Oscar winner, DiCaprio showed there were still some surprises up the old dog’s sleeve when he busted out some rhymes for his guests, including Gang Starr’s single ‘DWYCK’, featuring Nice & Smooth.
DiCaprio is known to be a bit of a hip-hop head, even though this performance has been causing some cringe among his fans.
In the past, the star has been known to party with proper hip-hoppers like 2 Chainz and Q-Tip, and has heaped praise on Jay-Z for executive producing The Great Gatsby soundtrack in 2013. Leo even attended A Tribe Called Quest gigs in the 1990s to support the rappers and beatmakers.
In his memoir From Staircase to Stage, Raper Raekwon revealed that DiCaprio was interested in a Wu-Tang Clan biopic, which RZA shut down due to talks for a multi-season series. The project became Wu-Tang: An American Saga, which aired three seasons on Hulu from 2019 to 2023.
Unfortunately DiCaprio’s involvement never really came to fruition. As far as white rappers go, Leo might not be Slim Shady or Vanilla Ice, but the homie can still flow. Check it out:
No wonder he’s such a hit with the young ones.
