Elton Jantjies has a long way to go before drama of all kinds will stop plaguing his name.
It’s hardly been a month since he was slapped with a four-year ban from rugby after being caught doping, and he is once again making headlines after his ex-girlfriend Ashleigh Ogle reportedly applied for a protection order against the troubled star.
His ex-girlfriend, a model and influencer, publicly announced her break up with the former Springbok star in November last year, sharing on X (formerly Twitter) that she has decided to end the relationship because “I have endured things no woman deserves”.
She added that “I was deluded and chose to believe in him until numerous reliable sources brought information to my attention that could have implicated me. I’m now choosing to distance myself from the situation,” the statement read.
ZiMoja revealed that the former couple is still currently involved in a legal battle.
According to a source close to the former couple, Ashleigh got tired of being harassed and threatened by Jantjies.
“He was threatening to kill her for messing up his reputation but we not sure which one. She decided to open a case and subsequently applied for protection order,” adds the source.
The source claims that his threats were getting serious to the point that she felt that she was being followed.
“At this point he has nothing to lose- he lost his career and his wife took his kids abroad. Ashleigh couldn’t just seat and entertain his threats,” adds the source.
The couple began their relationship in August last year after the former Springbok flyhalf separated from his Russian wife Iva Ristic over separate infidelity issues.
A source who spoke to ZiMoja said the relationship was toxic and that Jantjies was controlling and had her constantly followed.
“He has an uncontrollable temper and he would scream at Ashleigh when things did not go his way,” the source said.
The publication also divulged that when Ogle opened the case, Jantjies approached her wanting to settle out of court to avoid the media and drama.
“He has been begging her to drop the charges, but she won’t budge,” adds the source.
This man better be in therapy:

IOL had Ogle spill the tea on their short-lived relationship, claiming some serious allegations against Jantjies, like domestic abuse, substance misuse and stalking, all within a mere three months of dating.
It’s sad that we live in a world where we have to get protection/restraining orders against people we once loved for them to leave us alone or for us to feel safe

“Even a protection order won’t prevent this idiot from leaving me alone. WTF more does he want from me?” she wrote, adding in a follow-up tweet “This man is dangerously obsessed with me and it’s annoying now ”

During an exclusive interview with YOU, she said she should have seen the red flags, including him pursuing her despite the fact that he was still married to Iva and a police raid on his home in search of drugs.
The final straw came when she found out Jantjies had allegedly hired a security company to keep tabs on her.
