The 2024 Cape Town Pride Festival is once again set to kick off on Thursday, 15 February 2024.
The theme for this year is ‘Out, Proud & Fabulous’.
The three-week celebration will continue until March 3, with the Pride Parade on March 2. The procession ends at the Green Point Track, followed by events at the Pride Mardi Gras.
The list of fabulous festivities will include:
15 February – Pride’s Got Talent
17 February – Mother City Sirens – Way of the Rose
24 February – CTL Social: Pride Women’s Party and Pride Buddies
25 February – Pets for Pride Promenade Walk on Apostles of a Civilised Vice
27 February – Prejudice & Pride
28 February – Queers in Swedish Cinema
2 March – The Cape Town Pride Parade and the Cape Town Pride Mardi Gras
Pride’s aim has always been straightforward: To give a platform for the city’s LGBTIAQ+ community by raising awareness, supporting initiatives for equal opportunities and ensuring everyone is represented.
We may shine differently, but we’re all part of the same rainbow!
Run entirely by volunteers, Pride includes people of every race and faith, whether disabled or able-bodied and all sexualities and genders including lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, queer, questioning, intersex, trans*, genderqueer, gender variant or non-binary as well as straight and cis allies.
Even if you are as straight as the N1 passing by Beaufort West, you can still join in the fun.
