A pipe bomb exploded last night outside a Woolworths store in Athlone, Cape Town.
It is reported that two pipe bombs went off, the first being in Keurboom Road, also affecting a Vee’s Video, and the second in Belgravia Road, causing damage to AutoBelgravia.
Woolies spokesperson has reported damage to the shopfront, and thankfully no human casualties.
The City of Cape Town’s fire and rescue services were called to a car that was on fire, with onlookers saying the car had exploded.
No one is yet to be arrested.
