You have to give it up to daredevils the world over, they keep on coming up with new ways to make us wish we weren’t so petrified of plummeting from huge heights with just a parachute for safety.
We’ve had the local lads in Pretoria and the Pixar-inspired Up BASE jump to gawk at so far this year but now Russian BASE jumper and mountaineer Valery Rosov has upped the ante. This from Business Insider:
Rosov has conquered the highest point in Africa (19,340 feet). He made the first-ever BASE jump off Mount Kilimanjaro, from an altitude of 1,7913 feet above sea level.
Well played son, well played. It seems the guys at Red Bull will keep on pushing the boundaries, which is why we have a fridge stocked full in the office. Working on the wingsuit for our Woodstock Exchange BASE jump as we speak.
