Old habits die hard, and when you’re used to living the good life it’s tough to leave it all behind.
Take Rashied Staggie for example, the former Hard Livings gangster due in court today on charges of being in possession of stolen cigars and whiskey.
This is after the Hawks arrested three men near Canal Walk last week – below from News24:
Police would only say that one of the men was a “well-known former inmate and gang leader in the Cape Flats”, who was out on parole.
A well-placed source confirmed that Staggie was among those apprehended.
Staggie, former leader of the Hard Livings gang, was granted parole in 2014 after serving 13 years behind bars for a burglary at the Faure police armoury.
His brother Rashaad, who also held a top rank in the gang, was shot and set alight in 1996 in Salt River.
Last Thursday’s haul is believed to have come from a container depot in Cleveland, Johannesburg.
