Okay, I have tried to stay out of it. I vowed that I would not get caught up in all the insanity surrounding this royal wedding. But come on! Some American woman has literally quit her job to fly to England, a miserable and wet country, to be amongst the throng of slags and chavs on Kate’s big day.
Teresa Cunningham, of the Southern State of Missouri, asked her employer for leave to attend the biggest wedding (greater only than my sister’s friend Natalie’s last Saturday) ever. Unfortunately the company said no. But as she had already booked her plane tickets, it was just easier to quit than to argue.
Cunningham is part of that special kind of American that loves the pomp and pageantry of the British Royal Family, but if asked if she’d prefer to have the States placed back under British rule and actually be British, she would scoff at the very thought.
According to Cunningham, she had asked for leave last November, shortly after the great announcement was made. But now she claims the company has changed its mind. She told KMBC news:
Next thing I know, they’re telling me I can’t go. There’s no coverage, and we can’t get you, and if you go, you’re fired.
She says her decision is final and that there’s no way she’ll change her mind.
She then said:
Everybody wants to be a princess.
It’s good to see the delusional sticking it to the man like this.
