I had a look around and apparently, an alarming number of volcanoes have erupted already this year.
There are, however, two that really caught everyone’s attention due to the sheer magnitude of the events.
The first happened last month in Italy, when Mount Etna sent rocks and volcanic ash raining down on parts of Sicily.
The second, Mount Sinabung, exploded yesterday in Indonesia, sending volcanic materials upwards of 16 400 feet into the air and depositing ash on nearby villages.
Both happened on a Tuesday, further confirming my theory that it’s the worst day of the week.
According to CBS, activity in the volcano has been mounting over the past week with 13 ash clouds recorded.
Sinabung is among more than 120 active volcanoes in Indonesia, which is located on the “Ring of Fire,” an arc of volcanoes and fault lines encircling the Pacific Ocean.
In total, the ring also encompasses about 450 volcanoes, including all of the most active volcanoes in the U.S.
Check out a timelapse of it in all its glory:
More videos so that you can really take it in:

Sinabung was dormant for four centuries before it came back to life in 2010, killing two people. In 2017, it killed 17 people, while seven died in a 2016 eruption.
Fortunately, this time around, there are no reports of fatalities or injuries, and locals are being urged to stay as far away from it as possible.
Sound advice.
