A few months ago comedian and actor, Will Ferrell approached the Pabst Brewing Company to ask if he could shoot a series of TV commercials for their Old Milwaukee beer, completely free of charge. These are the results, and they are amazing.
Wild at Heart is a British TV show being shot in South Africa. One of its stars is Lucy, a nine year old pregnant giraffe. This week she fell into a swimming pool on set – forcing rescue workers to demolish it in order to free her. Video after the jump.
Wow, who would have thought MTV would ban a music video by Duran Duran! The new music video, Girl Panic!, which stars supermodels (as you do) performing as the band, has been released some 30 years after another music video of theirs (also starring supermodels) Girls On Film suffered similar controversy in 1981. I was […]
This year, the Western Cape Provincial Government is taking their road safety campaign to a new, chilling level. Yesterday Transport MEC, Robin Carlisle, launched ‘Crash Witness’, a series of road safety ads that will feature footage from actual road accidents.
You can say a lot of things about South African politics, but the worst we do to bloody agents is chase them from our revolutionary houses. In Russia they get thrown into the St Petersburg River.
Hello, future. A group of autonomous flying robots – “quadcopters”- have been used in an installation by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology to construct a six metre tall tower out of 1 500 foam bricks. The robots are completely autonomous, with a networked computer vision system directing the placement of the bricks.
Hey Geronimo is a relatively unknown indie band in Australia, but they’ve been getting some global props as their latest music video goes viral. In the video for single “Why Don’t We Do Something?”, the band recreates some of iPhone’s most popular games in real life, including Angry Birds, Plants Vs. Zombies, Flight Control, Cut The Rope and Fruit Ninja.
I am heading off to London on Thursday to interview Daniel Craig about his new movie, the American adaptation of the Swedish hit film with the same name. I should mention that the director of this adaptation is none other than David Fincher. You love David Fincher. He did films like Zodiac, Seven and The […]
Much excitement over in the United States (of America) as a team in Oklahoma won what would surely be described as a derby match of sorts. I say this, because there was a virtual riot after the game with a total pitch invasion, which included the uprights being ripped down. Pretty hectic visuals. This from […]
YouTube is launching what they’re calling their biggest redesign in history today – and, granted, every time a website changes they tend to say that, but the differences here are pretty striking, with sweeping changes to the homepage and channel pages, strongly emphasising social media integration.
Jeremy Clarkson appeared earlier this week on the BBC’s “The One Show”. During his interview he said that public servants who are taking part in a strike “ought to be executed in front of their families”. But Clarkson says it was only a joke and that producers of the show were warned in advance and approved of the comments.

Earlier this week Seth showed you a video of a charming British woman ranting and raving about ethnic minorities sharing the tram with her and how they are ruining Britain. Since then, two more videos, featuring equally charming ladies went viral. The competition for Britain’s most racist commuter is heating up! See the two new contenders after the jump.
The Carrier IQ software, installed on most modern Android, Blackberry and Nokia phones, is supposed to record some of the things phones do so manufacturers can do quality control. Except it’s also been logging everybody’s text messages, web searches, and phone calls. Which is pretty bad.
Good grief, this is what happens when you try to get granddads on an awards stage before they’ve had their lunch and/or an afternoon nap.
Last month, Google Maps’ Street View functionality started displaying photos of retail spaces’ interiors; now Google Maps itself is headed indoors, too, with a proposed Google Maps Floor Plans feature. This would mean Google maps of airports, shopping malls, and other buildings that you might somehow be able to get lost in.
A scene which could’ve come right off the pages of Slumdog Millionaire took place at a Mumbai train station recently when a citizen-initiated flash mob erupted in the midst of commuters.
It’s taken Hilts quite a while to get a Ferrari – having been hellbent on Bentley for a number of years. See what I did there? With the word “hellBENT.” Get it? Anyway, the blonde sex-tape machine went for the Ferrari California and hit the road on Friday last week. Follow link to see the […]
Nearly 10 000 people dressed up in zombie gore and wandered through Mexico City this weekend, in a bid to set the new world record for zombie walks, which is a thing. Once verified by Guinness, the walk will blaze past the previous record of 4 093 zombies, set in New Jersey last year.
Please enjoy this video taken on a London tram, showing a charming young English woman ranting and raving about ethnic minorities sharing the train with her and how they are ruining Britain – all while her son sits on her lap. Having spent three years living in London, this video comes as no surprise. These […]

Facebook, the social network we all love to hate. Already in its seventh year of existence, the online community has managed to connect everyone with everyone, even if they barely know one-another. For exactly that reason, many people have gone about culling off some of these Facebook “friends”, and while it freed up their newsfeed, it left others scorned.

I was a big fan of the Vodacom ad some time ago, which featured the African-dictator-type character, laughing as he abuses his power, repeatedly delivering the catchphrase “We’ve been having it!” The central idea of Nando’s festive season campaign follows that trend and revolves around a Robert Mugabe lookalike, as he reminisces about the good […]
Samsung has had a rather clever dig at the iPhone with its Galaxy S2 smartphone. Having recently surpassed Apple in total worldwide smartphone shipments, the Samsung brand clearly has its eyes firmly set on furthering its handle on the US smartphone market. Spicy.
