  • All Of Tom Cruise’s Wives Left Him At Age 33

Mimi Rogers, Nicole Kidman, and Katie Holmes. Three wives, three divorces, all at age 33.

The number 33 must obviously mean something in Scientology. After the announcement of the Tom/Katie split over the weekend, an astute fan noticed that all of Tom Cruises’ wives left him when they were 33. Coincidence, or is there somethings scientological we might be missing?

They say bad things happen in threes, but in Tom Cruise’s case this may be more applicable than you’d think.

Cruise married Mimi Rogers on the 31st of May of 1987, when she was 31.  She was 33 when they broke up in 1990. Marriage number two to Nicole Kidman saw the actors stayed together for ten years. They split in 2001, when she was 33. Katie Holmes and Cruise tied the knot in 2006, after much couch jumping, when she was 28 years old. This past week she also said “cheers,” and can we guess how old she was? Oh yes, 33.

Intrepid gossip fans have done some digging and have found that the church of scientology lies on the 33rd parallel in Phoenix, Arizona. In numerology, another highly reliable pseudo-science, the number 33 relates to “master teacher.” Perhaps not, then.

According to church doctrine the divorce will not be recognised. In scientology marital problems are seen as a sign of “withholds” or “overts,” which I can only assume are things the aliens left in our brains when they came here to colonise us.

    Or something like that.
