June 16 is Father’s Day this year, guys. That’s right, this serves as your official reminder. And here’s the deal: biltong packs and no-name camping chairs aren’t going to cut it again this year. Bear in mind that this man gave you the gift of life – frigging suck it up and stop being so damned cheap. You know when he wasn’t cheap? Your whole life, until you were 21 – even later for some of you.

So you’ll be chuffed to know that an actual present that will communicate your gratitude is at hand. Behold: The Top Gear Festival 2013.

This year’s installment of the Top Gear Festival will feature Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Top Gear’s tame racing driver, The Stig.  2013 also brings with it a brand new lay-out for the Top Gear Festival Street Circuit, including enhancements to the track to allow for greater overtaking possibilities and improved spectating quality for hot laps by former World Formula 1 Champion Mika Häkkinen, zany antics by the Top Gear presenters, Top Gear Challenges and tons of hotly contested MSA racing action.

Also back by popular demand in the Action Zone will be the Shell Stunt School powered by Shell V-power, featuring professional drivers piloting vehicles through facemelting manoeuvres.

Tired of watching? Challenge pops to a spin around the Go Kart circuit for a hundred bucks each.

For a slight reduction in horse power, a visit to the People’s Park exhibition area will be just the thing. See the latest car launches, accessories and ehancements up close and personal.  Also on site are a host of kiddies activities to ensure that your whole family gets to experience one of the most anticipated festivals on the motoring calendar.

So obviously you’ll be there with your dd – you might as well get the best value for your money, and sponsor two juniors while you’re there. Nab the Family Package at just R1,750 per family of four (two adults and two children under the age of 16).

The Sunday Classic Family package on the 16th June includes:

    • 4x Classic tickets for the Top Gear Stadium Show (1:30pm start)
    • 4x Standing tickets for the Top Gear Festival Street Circuit Standing (9:30am start)
    • All day access to the whole Festival Area (9am-8pm)

To book your tickets for the Sunday Classic Family package on the 16th June as well as other ticket packages that range from the Basic Ticket at R250 to R2,100 for an Ultimate Package, log on to www.topgearfestival.co.za.

For travelling Top Gear enthusiasts and guests, there is a full range of travel packages, from self-drive packages and luxury coach packages to flight packages, which include travel, and accommodation on a B&B basis in a Tsogo Sun 3 star or 4 star Hotel.
