There are still moments where I question people’s sanity when they say they haven’t heard of Uber. This post isn’t for them – it’s for people who want to ENHANCE their Uber vibe..

At my house we use Uber nearly every day – even for collecting food from restaurants that don’t do deliveries. During season time, when I was too scared to leave the house, I often used Uber to pick things up for me. Like this fresh load of Gaviscon, to deal with the face-stuffing food issue we were dealing with in my home.

But I’m sure you knew about using Uber to pick things up and deliver things for you already.

What’s more exciting for me (and the point of this article) is using Uber to go ‘out of the zone.’ Eg. if I take Uber to Franschhoek for a summer lunch at Haute Cabriere and I worry that there might not be one available when it’s time to come home again. That happened the other day and after doing some homework it dawned on me that it only costs R1.10 a minute to get your Uber to wait for you?!That’s like R66 an hour. Which is roughly the same as a pack of 2-ply.

Or a car guard in Camps Bay.

And that’s the Uber Black cars. When you’re using UberX it’s only 70c. Imagine that? At that price you should consider getting an Uber to sit outside your house all day – in case you need a car (or a pickup / delivery). Or you could tell people you have a bodyguard.

    Yes, I like that.

    Get with the programme, people..

And for those of you who haven’t yet signed up for Uber, remember you can get R90 off your first ride if you use this promo code when you signup – iv7f8
