In all the sadness that’s happening all over the world, it’s stories with happy endings like this that keep us going.
Back in 1991, Sun Bin was just four years old and playing near his father’s stall at the local market in the city of Chengdu, in south-eastern China’s Sichuan province. Suddenly and unexpectedly, he was kidnapped and then sold to a couple for £250, over 1 000 miles away.
Now, 24 years later, Sun Bin has found his father, and this is the moment they saw each other for the first time.
Sun also got to meet his younger sister for the first time. Sadly, his mum passed away in 2011 “from a broken heart” at the loss of her son.
