For those who give a hoot the Oscar buzz is in full swing, with the nominees being announced yesterday. Obviously there are an unhappy few who have been slighted this time around, with a healthy dose of controversy too.
Of course with Daniel Day-Lewis and Meryl Streep being such Oscar hogs there is a lengthy list of surprising non-winners. Who would have thought that Martin Scorcese’s favourite man crush Leo Di Caprio was still empty-handed, despite five nominations in the past?
Julianne Moore, that sultry red-headed siren has also suffered through five nominations without chalking up a win.
Glenn Close has a whopping six nominations without a win, Jonny Depp three winless wanders down the aisle and Samuel L. Jackson has only been nominated once for ‘Pulp Fiction’.
Consider all of the above and then remember that Sandra Bullock won a Best Actress Oscar for “The Blind Side”. Sometimes there really is no justice in the world.
