Star Wars Fans – This Millennium Falcon Drone Is For You [Video]

What do you get when you cross a drone with an iconic movie empire spaceship? A whole bunch of happy Stars Wars fan. Check the maiden voyage here.

I hope we are all in agreement that drones are cool. Yes, there are a few people out there using them for the wrong reasons but generally they are put to good use. I dare you to watch THIS VIDEO and not be inspired by Africa’s beauty.

But we digress, so back to the matter at hand. Fans of Star Wars, and we know there are a fair few of you guys out there, get ready to pop an awkward halfy. Hans Solo’s iconic Millenium Falcon spaceship has been recreated in drone-form by one superfan, who filmed his maiden voyage for you all to enjoy. Some info here from Time:

…a drone enthusiast named Olivier sought to combine the affordable power and speed of today’s drones with the irresistible shape and design of the Millennium Falcon

The quadcopter “is an overpowered little beast,” he wrote, adding that it was “easily capable of 90km/h [56 miles per hour] horizontal speed.” With his special customizations, however, that dropped to “probably about 30km/h,” or 19 mph…

Watch the video above and see for yourself. Also, let me know if anyone a robotic Chewbacca makes (said in Yoda’s voice, of course).
