So you’re feeling a little down today, it’s a Monday and that’s to be expected I guess. The weekend was a goodie, but now it’s back to making small talk with co-workers and answering annoying emails from Cheryl in accounts.

Thanks Cheryl, you’ll be pleased to know you’re breaking my balls on what is officially the most depressing day of the year. It’s been dubbed Blue Monday, the third Monday back at work in January, and according to the travel company that penned the term it’s going to be one long ass day.

    This from the Daily Mail:

Researchers have dubbed January 18 as Blue Monday after finding that people are at their loneliest, debt levels are at their highest and the weather is at its worst, at this time of year.

A survey by the Co-op found that 26% of British people claim that this month is when they feel the most isolated.

On top of this, 87% of the population also feel the weather has a direct influence on their mood, according to a poll from LeoVegas.com.

But it might not just be the gloomy skies bringing the country down, as the data also suggests two-thirds (61%) of people feel depressed on their way to work.

Now sure they’re talking about the weather in the UK, which we know is horrid at the best of times, but I think they may also be considering the sheer number of people hanging on for dear life until the next pay day. Those holidays were a jol but sheesh, didn’t the wallet take a pounding?

Almost there guys, just hang on a little longer.

If you’re really down in the dumps how about R1 000 cash for taking a picture of someone at a Corner Bakery? You should already know about our competition but if you don’t then read THIS, nothing perks me up quite like winning something for nothing.
