Apparently helicopter sales dropped in 2014. Who knew? Well, Airbus, a European civil aircraft manufacturer, did and they weren’t too happy about it. So last year, they decided to get involved in the tech scene and established a $150 million fund to get some partnerships going in Silicon Valley.
And they found the ideal match: Uber.
What is going to first play out as a test run flight, the pilot test will take place at Sundance Film Festival later this month. Prices are yet to be revealed.
Although Uber has dabbled in the flying field before, perhaps this time the venture might just take off. Or it may hover in place for a while.
