There’s a way to beat the weekday blues just a little quicker while in Cape Town and it involves half price tapas. Yup, and they are delicious to boot. Think Lamb Sliders (full price: R86 | half price: R43), Sirloin Cubes (R56 | R28) and Chorizo Chilli Poppers (R70 | R35 ).
That alone is enough for 2 people.
And, amongst all the chaos of First Thursdays, it’s the place to escape. Known for their signature dish comprising of a delicious steak, chips and salad, HQ‘s tapas go beyond that simplicity and enters a world of variation and splendour, ideal for a cheap date.
If you decided you want to enjoy the atmosphere a little longer, there’s a resident DJ who plays throughout the evening. It’s a sweet vibe and not something you should give up. But please make sure to book. The tapas serving is kept to the lounge / bar area which is not only cozy, but can get quite full, especially on Thursday evenings.
Call or email them on 021 424 6373 / info@hqrestaurant.co.za to book and enjoy every mouthful.
