  • You’ve Heard About The KFC Meal That Charges Your Phone, Right? [Video]

Before you get too excited and run off to KFC, just know that their latest promotion “Watt a Box” is only available in India –  at least for now.

After the fast food chain won a Grand Prix award at the Loeries for their innovative use of bone conduction to let customers listen to music at their tables without disturbing anyone else in Bloemfontein outlets, it’s good to keep up with KFC’s (sometimes) ridiculously cool campaigns.

Launching the 5-in-1 meal box with a 6 100mAh battery bank stashed into one side, the advertising geniuses behind the campaign, BGR, reports:

The box comes with magnetic flaps and contains your usual meal but has a power bank integrated on its side. The box also comes with micro-USB and Lightning cables to charge your iPhone or Android smartphones.

The battery bank is then removable for later use, so you can still charge your phone on the go.

However, there is one problem, which the company warned the public about:

We put an iPhone 5s to charge, which gained 17% battery after charging for half-an-hour. But the downside was that the power bank was drained during this process. We recharged the power bank to 100 percent and tried to charge a Redmi Note 3. But the power bank ran out of juice again with the phone gaining just 7 percent of charge.

It’s still a pretty legit idea. Check it out:
