Never mind the fact that Melania Trump’s eyes looked like she was attempting to cast a spell with every sentence she spoke, but the potential First Lady may have lifted some of her speech from another’s.
Speaking last night at the Republican National Convention, the address was considered Melania’s most important moment in the public eye since she married her husband in 2011.
But she pretty much blew it.
Journalist Jarrett Hill pointed out that at least one section of Melania’s speech was taken from Michelle Obama’s 2008 Democratic National Convention speech, and when you put the words side by side it’s pretty obvious that either Melanie or her speech writers were super inspired by the current First Lady.
Here’s a transcript of Trump versus Obama:
This was supposed to Melania’s chance to show the world what she has to give. She was supposed to stand up and say something important, even life-changing maybe.
Yet she blatantly copied Michelle’s speech, which kind of implies she’s not really all that. The U.S. deserves a better woman on the arm of Trump, surely? Probably not.
Trump’s campaign released a vague statement which spoke more of actually writing the speech than the actual plagiarism issue.
Anyways, at least she killed it with her fashion choice. Apparently Melania doesn’t have a stylist, and she sure doesn’t need one.
Just like Kate Middleton, Melania inspired thousands of women to buy the $2,190 (R31 221) dress, which was sold out an hour after she appeared on national television.
