Just after Michael Kerr accepted his partner’s marriage proposal, he downed three whiskeys. The problem was, however, the chef and his lover were on a flight to Charlotte, North Carolina, and just as the plane landed, Kerr thought he deserved VIP treatment and made his way to the cockpit.
As Kerr was trying to force his way into the front of the plane, an airline attendant and pilot were blocking his way with what seemed like minimal force.
Attempting to maneuver past them with little success, Kerr sure does sound a lot like a five year old:
“I said take a seat, sir,” the pilot sternly orders Kerr.
“Noooooooo,” the liquored up 36-year-old chef from Lexington told him. “I doooon’t want to take a seat—”
“I don’t care what you want to do, you’re going to take a seat right now,” the pilot shot back.
Kerr ended up kicking and shoving until the pilot – and eventually passengers – restrained him in the middle of the aisle.
He is now facing federal charges for “interference with the performance or duties of a flight crewmember or flight attendant” and could serve up to 20 years in prison. Kerr was released on bail on Monday for $25 000.
This may just make for an extremely awkward wedding ceremony.
