If you drive along the edge of the Cape Peninsula, you may come across a few nautical-themed houses. They are generally subtle, with blue and white interiors, elegant stainless steel railings and a few scattered portholes along the way.

    But nothing like this.

In Bedfordview a house has come on to the market, offering five bedrooms, five bathrooms and a 360 degree panoramic view of who knows what. But to add to the misery, the house’s nautical theme relies heavily on the Titanic.

I mean, Johannesburg isn’t even close to the sea.

At R50 million, Business Tech explains:

All décor, furniture and features within the house are custom made and designed to enhance the theme, and the house even features a 15 metre tall lighthouse with a 360 degree panoramic view of the countryside.

The mansion consists of two edifices: a three storey main residential edifice, which has lounges and dining rooms with a Hollywood flair, two cinema rooms with surround sound, and an indoor pool and bar.

The second edifice features a three meter tropical fish tank with an extensive sushi bar, fully equipped kitchen, cigar lounge, DJ connected counter, pool table and bar.

One of the more remarkable features of the house is a specially engineered Titanic connecting bridge, and a ‘Titanic’ café leading with a nightclub venue and entertainment area seating 52 people.

And in case you ever forget the theme – the whole home is filled with water features and murals of the Titanic – including a sinking ship mural over one of the beds.

I cannot even. Here’s what it looks like in real life – although it doesn’t make things any better:

Please be sure to notice the iceberg sinking the Titanic on the wall behind that bed.

Eish, I hope the person who buys it either loves the Titanic or has spare change to redecorate. They should definitely use these guys if the latter is their choice.

Here’s a little something extra for you Titanic fans out there – why not?
