A parrot as a witness?
Thanks to a foul-mouthed pet parrot [above], 49-year-old Glenna Duram of Sand Lake, Michigan was handed a life sentence on Monday.
Martin Duram, 46, was shot five times in May 2015 and passed away. His then wife Glenna suffered a head wound in what prosecutors said was a suicide attempt, but survived, explains TIME.
But it was Martin’s ex-wife that solved the case.
After the murder, Christina Keller took ownership of Martin’s pet parrot, Bud, who repeated “don’t f***ing shoot” in Martin’s voice, reports Daily Mail:
Her claims were backed up by Martin’s parents, who said they were sure the bird was revealing what went on.
‘That bird picks up everything and anything, and it’s got the filthiest mouth around,’ [Martin’s mother] Lillian Duram told the BBC.
Although the parrot-turned-rat was not called upon to testify in the trial, it seems Glenna’s goose was cooked.
Her attorney plans to appeal the decision.
