As Johannesburg makes moves to recover from damages caused by the hail, tornado and flash flooding that hit the city yesterday afternoon, those in the southern parts of Kwa-Zulu Natal have now been urged to stay indoors after a massive storm hit the coastline this morning.
The storm is expected to subside at around 2PM this afternoon, but it has already wreaked havoc.
Flights have been delayed, bridges are collapsing and trees are being uprooted:
The eThekwini Municipality was forced to issue a warning:
“Due to the inclement weather conditions currently being experienced in Durban, all residents are urged to stay indoors until the storm passes. Residents are also cautioned against driving or walking anywhere for the duration of the storm.
“All roads in the southern parts of Durban have been closed.”
The city also said that the current wind has been measured at 70km/h – here’s a look at the madness:
