Right off the bat, I’ll help you out – it’s pronounced ‘dead mouse’.

Joel Thomas Zimmerman, the Canadian electronic music producer and DJ known as deadmau5, recently dropped the music video for Monophobia (ft. Rob Swire).

Depending what you’re into, it might make you think you’ve forgotten to take your meds, or remembered to take them, but there’s no denying that it’s all very off-the-wall.

    EDM reports:

On mau5ville: level 1, out now on his label mau5trap, deadmau5 reunites with Swire for the new single “Monophobia.” Now, he invites fans to his home for an out of control party in the track’s video directed by Nick DenBoer & Kenny Hotz.

This music video is bonkers. It features the animation of DenBoer whose unique work I’ve seen scouring the internet. The fleshy bodies transforming and flailing around are like a train wreck you can’t look away from. The dance moves are amazing. There’s really no way to grasp what might show up next.

That’s a pretty accurate take, but you can make your own mind up:

As soon as I saw the clown entrance to the ‘Funhouse’ I was out, but a visit would make for an interesting afternoon.

In somewhat related news, the Cape Town Magical Mushroom March takes place on September 22 – details:

The second Cape Town Magical Mushroom March invites all citizens of the Psychedelic culture to celebrate their culture, promote the legalisation of Psychedelic mushrooms and to join us on a day trip walking around the city. Please bring an arty mushroom to carry and your own refreshments.

You can find out more info here.

Right, headphones out and back to pretending you’re busy. I’ll see you all on Monday.
